Chick-fil-A Online Ordering


A mobile ordering platform to reduce the spread of COVID-19.

To help reduce contact during COVID-19, Chick-fil-A wanted to launch a mobile ordering platform which would allow customers to order and pay using their phones, therefore reducing contact during drive-thru or curbside pickup. Previously, only customers with the app could order online for onsite pickup.

The Process

To start, I met with stakeholders to define access points to the product. The first phase of this website would be launched quickly to meet increased demand for drive-thru ordering. On-site banner ads listing a location-specific URL would let customers order on their phones while waiting in line. In a second phase, the main Chick-fil-A website would be updated to include online ordering and location search.

To ensure a consistent experience between the website and app, we took a survey of the app and made note of what could be improved for the website while keeping the overall flow and layout similar. Key updates included the navigation, the introduction of guest checkout, and small updates to improve readability.
